BACKGROUND TO THE POST
WCG (Warwickshire College Group) is one of the largest general further education colleges in the country, incorporating five colleges spanning the counties of Warwickshire and Worcestershire and offering courses leading to qualifications ranging from pre-entry level to higher education (HE). Our colleges primarily serve the rural, urban and city areas of their own and neighboring counties, but some of our provision, particularly in land-based industries, recruits nationally and overseas.
Moreton Morrell College is set in 750 acres of countryside and offers courses in agriculture, equine and farriery, countryside management, arboriculture, animal management, construction and sport to approximately 1600 students.
WCUC is proud to be one of the first college groups in the UK to be granted both Bachelor degree awarding powers and Foundation degree awarding powers by the Office for Students - meaning the academic quality and standards of our degrees are equal to any university. We are proud of the dynamic, supportive and friendly ethos of our higher education community and our small class sizes means we can tailor the learning experience to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
We welcome applicants with a passion for improving animal welfare and can inspire the next generation of animal practitioners entering the industry. The ability to motivate and engage students in new and emerging topics is important; helping them to succeed academically and personally in readiness for taking the first tentative steps of their career.
Ideally, the applicant will have experience in a Higher Education setting and hold relevant qualifications but we also welcome applicants new to the teaching sector, providing support to develop you in this role.
