Summary

Meridian Business Support are recruiting on behalf of our client in Luton for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Operations Quality team. This is a temporary role with strong likelihood of extension and an opportunity to go permanent for the right person.

The Role

Working within a regulated aerospace & defence environment, you’ll act as a Quality focal point supporting in-service and returns material activities at IPT level.

Weekly structure:

- 2 days – MRB meetings: reviewing units, identifying risks, entering data into SAP, Matlab & Excel
- 1.5 days – Post-MRB investigations and documentation updates
- 1.5 days – Preparing for the next MRB cycle

Training can be provided on systems, but strong quality knowledge is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Support Quality Manager and Principal Quality Engineer
- Investigate non-conformances (root cause & corrective action)
- Review and approve returns, concessions and repair documentation
- Ensure traceability and configuration control
- Liaise with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO9001
- Provide quality reports and support continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For Essential:

- Experience in a similar Quality role
- Strong understanding of quality principles and risk identification
- Ability to translate engineering requirements into structured tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills – confident with shop floor and senior stakeholders
- Analytical, logical thinker

Desirable:

- Aerospace & defence background
- Experience with SAP, Matlab, Excel

You’ll be confident, proactive and able to challenge appropriately, while remaining supportive and collaborative.
