Resident Civil Engineer – Substation Project - Isle of Skye, Scotland

We are recruiting for a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of a new build substation project in the Isle of Skye, forming part of a major UK grid infrastructure upgrade.

This is a site-based role focused on supervising and coordinating civil works during construction. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with programme requirements.

Key details:

- Site-Based
- Full time contract role for a duration of approximately 3 years
- Competitive Day Rate (CIS/PAYE)
- 11 on, 3 off day shifts
- Accommodation Provided

Key responsibilities:

- Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities on site
- Monitor groundworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, drainage and ducting works
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Review method statements and ITPs
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks
- Coordinate subcontractors and interface with electrical and structural teams
- Support temporary works coordination where required
- Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations and site safety standards
- Track progress and report risks or delays

What We’re Looking For:

- Experience delivering civil works on infrastructure, substation or energy projects
- Strong understanding of groundworks, RC structures and substation civils (desirable)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience supervising subcontractors on live construction sites
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- TWC experience
- Based in Scotland
