Summary
Contracts Manager - Fire & Security - London & SE - Up to £65,000 + Package
CBW are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire and Security Contract Manager to lead and manage the delivery of fire safety and security systems contracts across a portfolio of projects. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of fire alarm, detection, suppression, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm installations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and client specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to team and client communication, along with a solid understanding of fire protection & security systems and regulations.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm
Key duties & responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate fire and security system installations from design to commissioning.
- Plan project schedules, allocate resources, and manage subcontractors.
- Monitor budgets, timelines, and quality of work, reporting progress to senior management.
- Conduct regular site visits and ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Provide technical support for system design and installation.
- Ensure systems are compliant with BS5839, BS5266, BS EN 50131, NSI standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Review technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for accuracy.
- Maintain knowledge of health & safety legislation, fire safety regulations, and security standards.
- Ensure all works adhere to current legislation and internal safety protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions when required.
- Manage and support fire and security engineers and subcontractors.
- Conduct performance reviews and support staff development and training.
- Foster a safety-first, quality-focused culture within the team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants regarding fire and security matters.
- Provide regular updates and handle any issues or escalations promptly.
- Assist with bids, tenders, and proposals for new projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to achieve business targets through organic growth and new business
- Identify and pursue potential new clients through networking, cold calling and attending industry events.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fire and security project management (minimum 5 years preferred).
- Certification in fire and/or security system installation and maintenance (e.g., FIA, BAFE, NSI, SSAIB).
- Knowledge of current industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Valid ECS/CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
- Strong IT skills (MS Project, Office Suite, AutoCAD familiarity a plus).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) - Desirable
- NEBOSH or IOSH certificate - Desirable
- Experience with integrated security solutions - Desirable
