Summary
Deputy Room Leader – Pre-School Room – Up to £34,000
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Room Leader to join our client’s family-run day nursery set in a leafy residential area. It is set in a beautiful Edwardian house with extensive gardens, the nursery cares for children aged 3 months to 5 years in well-equipped, organised rooms. This position will be based within the Pre-School (3–5 years) room, supporting the Room Leader in maintaining standards and daily operations.

Key Job Details
- Salary: Up to £34,000 depending on experience
- 40 hours per week
- Shift pattern: 7:30am–4:30pm or 9:30am–6:00pm
- Full-time, permanent contract

What You’ll Need
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of the EYFS framework
- Previous experience working within a Pre-School or 3–5 years setting
- Experience supporting or deputising for a Room Leader
- Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience supporting inspections or quality improvement initiatives
- SEN experience or additional early years training
What You’ll Do
- Support the Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the Pre-School room
- Lead planned EYFS activities and oversee continuous provision
- Act as key person, ensuring accurate observations and assessments
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and health and safety
- Support staff practice and contribute to room planning meetings
- Assist with inspection preparation and quality improvement initiatives
