Contract: Full Time Salary: £15.50 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: Full TimeAlderbrook Care Home, based in Leeds, will specialise in complex physical and mental health needs for 140 residents. We are creating a supportive, specialist environment where residents feel valued, respected and truly at home.
We are now looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Officer to join our team. If you take pride in ensuring buildings and equipment are always in top condition, and enjoy creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff, we would love to hear from you.
What We Offer
- £15.50 per hour, full-time
- Pension scheme, Paid DBS, Uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
Your Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the upkeep of our care home, ensuring all facilities, equipment, and safety systems are functioning correctly. You will carry out repairs, inspect electrical systems, manage installations and upgrades, and maintain outdoor areas. You will perform routine checks on safety systems, address building damages, and support projects and renovations that improve the home. Occasional evening, weekend, and on-call duties may be required. Every task you undertake will directly contribute to a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in building maintenance or a similar role
- Ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks including repairs, installations, and inspections
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to following procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Flexibility and willingness to respond to emergencies as required
- Positive, professional attitude and ability to collaborate with the team
