Gowrie House Care Home is a warm and welcoming 60 bed home in the heart of Kirkcaldy, offering high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care. Our dedicated team plays a vital role in ensuring residents feel supported, comfortable and truly at home.
We are now recruiting an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role on shift, support colleagues and help deliver outstanding, person centred care in a supportive and rewarding environment.
What We Offer
- £13.60 per hour
- Contracted to 38.5 hours per week
- Paid PVG, Pension scheme, Uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract
Your Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will lead by example and support the smooth running of the shift, ensuring residents receive safe, high quality care. You will assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition and daily routines while promoting dignity, choice and independence. You will administer medication, maintain accurate care records and ensure care plans and risk assessments reflect each resident’s needs and preferences.
You will communicate effectively with residents, families and professionals, respond promptly to call bells and support the team to maintain a calm, organised and positive environment within the home. You will also contribute to training, handovers and team development while upholding high standards of care and safety.
What We’re Looking For
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or working towards
- Practical medication administration training with competencies
- Experience supporting or leading a team on shift
- A caring, organised and reliable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to high quality, person centred care
