About the Quality Assurance Assistant job
Within this brand new role, as Quality Assurance Assistant you will support the company’s food safety and quality ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet the highest standards while supporting continuous improvement across the sites.
Key tasks
• Conduct internal audits and inspections plus assist in preparing for internal and external audits including BRCGS, SALSA, customer audits, and regulatory visits.
• Assist with ongoing supplier performance monitoring e.g. maintaining raw material specifications and certificates of analysis and supporting investigations into raw material non-conformances.
• Review of daily operational records (e.g. CCP checks, product weights, date coding, hygiene) and report on accuracy, legibility, and compliance with internal procedures.
• Log non conformances and assist in tracking corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and suggest improvements to processes or documentation.
About You
• 2+ years’ experience working in a food manufacturing or food packing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
• Familiarity with CCP/CP monitoring, Food Safety, HACCP and GMP standards plus experience with BRCGS or SALSA would be ideal.
• Good standard of general education (e.g., GCSEs, or equivalent).
• Ability to read and understand written procedures and specifications.
• Full UK driving licence essential for travel between sites.

The Quality Assurance Assistant job (ref:9018) is paying £35,000 according to your experience.
This is a 1 year contract with the possibility for it to then go permanent.
The package includes 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, income protection, life assurance, private medical insurance plus other benefits including enhanced pension scheme, employee assistant program and Christmas shutdown.
The site is based in Essex and is commutable from Chelmsford, Witham, Basildon, Maldon, Braintree, Colchester and surrounding areas.
The working hours are Monday to Friday normal office hours.
