Summary

Thanet District Council’s Financial Services and Procurement department are looking to recruit a highly organised individual with an eye for detail and accuracy to the role of Payments and Income Officer

Main Duties:


Payments:


Monitoring mail boxes for supplier invoices and statements
To assist in the processes relating to the weekly payment runs
Actioning tasks relevant to Accounts Payable in our Financial Management System

Income:


Processing of all imported transactions relating to payments received by the Council to ensure customers accounts are accurate.
Process and allocate all monies received by the Council via cheque payments to ensure customers accounts are accurate.
Responsible for the allocation of the Cash Suspense Account including reconciliation to ensure unallocated funds are kept to a minimum.
Transfer any misallocated income for all relevant departments and trace any missing payments as requested, ensuring correct allocation of income.
Monitoring mail boxes for customer and TDC officer Income queries

Essential Requirements:


Ability to input data accurately and efficiently
Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with external and internal customers including the ability to communicate effectively with senior officers
Flexible and ‘can do’ attitude towards their work
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Enjoy working as part of a team, with the ability to take responsibility for own workload

Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check as part of their pre-employment checks
