Summary

JOB TITLE: Head of Fundraising
REPORTING TO: Chief Executive
HOURS: Full time, 37.5 hours (occasional evenings/weekends)
LOCATION: Glossop & Ashton-under-Lyne
SALARY: Competitive, dependent on experience (shared on request)

PURPOSE OF ROLE

A senior leadership position responsible for income generation and communications, ensuring the charity is financially sustainable, visible and trusted. The Head of Fundraising will lead strategy, planning and delivery of all fundraising and marketing activity, develop a multi-year income plan, manage a small team and strengthen the organisation’s profile and impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning: Develop and deliver a multi-year fundraising strategy with the CEO.

Team Leadership: Manage and motivate the fundraising team, setting targets and fostering high performance.

Income Generation: Grow diverse income streams including individual giving, trusts, corporates and legacies.

Communications & Brand: Oversee brand voice, website, social media and content planning (with external support).

Relationship Management: Build and steward relationships with major donors, partners and funders.

Financial Management: Manage budgets, track ROI and report to the CEO and Trustees.

Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to fundraising regulations, GDPR and ethical standards.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential Experience & Skills

Senior fundraising experience or strong transferable experience in sales, business development or relationship management.

Proven leadership and team management ability.

Excellent stakeholder and relationship-building skills.

Experience setting and achieving financial targets.

Strong planning, organisation and project management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of fundraising best practice or willingness to learn.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable

Charity fundraising experience.

Grant and trust fundraising knowledge.

CRM / donor database experience.

Understanding of GDPR and compliance.
