Summary
University of Sheffield
Are you an exceptional communicator who can turn complex ideas and academic concepts into compelling fundraising propositions? Can you work at pace to manage multiple projects that cut across different teams?
If you believe that education can change the world, and you’re excited by the impact of ground-breaking research, we’d love to hear from you.
Here at the University of Sheffield, we’re seeking a creative and organised individual to help drive our highly-successful fundraising and engagement campaign. We have a vacancy for a Campaign Projects Manager who sees beyond the spreadsheet to the life-changing impact hidden within.
You’ll be based in the Campaigns and Alumni Relations (CAR) department and working with colleagues in CAR as well as across the wider University. Reporting to the Associate Director of Campaign Management, you will play a key role in the conclusion of our successful “Forged in Sheffield” campaign and help build the pipeline for the future of philanthropy at the University.
What You’ll Be Doing
● Pipeline Development: You will design processes to identify, scope, and evaluate a sustainable pipeline of philanthropic opportunities that align with University priorities.
● Translation & Storytelling: You will partner with senior academics to "translate" complex research into emotive, persuasive "Cases for Support" that appeal to non-expert donors.
● Strategic Project Management: You will lead a time-limited plan to unlock income from endowment funds, coordinating submissions to the Charity Commission and reporting on the impact of endowed gifts.
● Campaign Governance: You will support the conclusion of the "Forged in Sheffield" campaign, ensuring its impact is celebrated and shared, and momentum is sustained post-campaign through rigorous planning and reporting.
● Stakeholder Management: You will prepare high-level briefings, board papers, and slide decks for senior leadership, ensuring complex information is presented clearly and concisely.
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months. If you are ready to help us finish our campaign on a high and shape the future of philanthropy at a World Top 100 University, we want to hear from you.
We foster a culture where everyone feels they belong. Even if your past experience doesn't match perfectly with every criteria, your contribution is valuable.
What We Offer
We offer a fantastic range of benefits including a highly competitive annual leave entitlement (with the ability to purchase more), a generous pensions scheme, flexible working opportunities, a commitment to your development and wellbeing, a wide range of retail discounts, and much more.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.
