Key Responsibilities
• Scheduling & Rostering: Creating, amending, and managing staff rotas using specialized software to ensure timely care visits.
• Staff Management: Matching caregivers to clients based on skill and personality, managing staff shortages, and covering sickness or holidays.
• Compliance & Records: Maintaining accurate client/staff files in line with CQC regulations, performing audits on medication logs, and updating care plans.
• Communication: Acting as the main point of contact for clients, families, and professionals, and handling queries promptly.
• Quality Assurance: Monitoring care delivery in the field, conducting supervisions/appraisals, and ensuring a person-centred approach.
• On-Call: Participating in a rotating on-call system to handle emergencies outside of office hours.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: Previous experience in domiciliary care scheduling or a similar coordinator role is usually required.
• IT Skills: Proficiency with electronic monitoring systems and rostering software (e.g., Access Care Planning, Birdie, PASS).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for dealing with sensitive information and diverse stakeholders.
• Organization: Ability to work under pressure, manage complex logistics, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of CQC regulations and Health and Safety legislation.
Typical Working Environment
This is primarily an office-based role, but it often requires occasional field visits to monitor care quality.
