Summary
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and patient SEN Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for a Year 1 pupil (aged 6) with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil’s primary area of need is Communication and Interaction.
Applicants must be confident supporting pupils with additional needs and adapting learning to meet EHCP outcomes.
Responsibilities
Deliver tailored 1:1 sessions to a Year 1 pupil
Support communication and interaction development
Plan sessions in line with KS1 curriculum and EHCP targets
Provide brief progress updates as required
Work in accordance with safeguarding procedures
Qualifications
Must hold a Qualified Teacher Status
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, with children or young learners
Knowledge of specialised education needs, including experience with special education is advantageous
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
Strong organisational skills to plan lessons and track student progress effectively
Passion for education and helping students succeed
Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or subject-specific areas are desirable but not essential
Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse learning styles
