Sheffield United Women's Academy are seeking an experienced Youth Academy Physiotherapist to deliver the provision and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and medical care for players within the Women's Academy. The role will work closely with the Academy's multi-disciplinary team to implement exceptional medical standards and support the development of players through high-quality assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will contribute to the creation of evidence-based physiotherapy protocols, maintain CSP-compliant medical records, and provide medical cover for Academy fixtures. In addition, they will collaborate with the Physical Performance department to ensure optimal recovery and progression from injury, while remaining up to date with developments in sports medicine and engaging in internal CPD programmes.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Fulfil the role of a chartered physiotherapist in the assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of all injuries. Whilst also providing support and learning to all other Academy medical staff.
- Assist with the development of evidence-based protocols for all areas of physiotherapy relating to the Women's Academy, using all available resources including the latest research and collaboration with clinical specialists.
- Assist with Academy player injuries/illnesses in consultation with the wider MDT and medical team.
- Provide medical cover for Youth Academy fixtures. Liaising with and managing appropriate pitch side personal, opposition medical staff.
- Record and continuously maintain medical records befitting of the CSP standard, whilst assisting with clinical audits, ensuring standards are being met.
- Oversee the upkeep, maintenance and audit of all Academy medical notes.
Work closely with the Physical Performance departments, and other relevant staff, to ensure optimum rehabilitation and the progression of injuries.
- Deliver, maintain and analyse weekly screening of all Academy players.
Maintain all legal and professional qualifications relating to your position within the Club.
- Observe, monitor and react to the ever-changing world of sports medicine, keeping up to date with all current research developments.
- Attend and professionally engage in the internal emergency aid staff CPD programme.
- Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.

Essential Criteria:
- BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy.
- Valid HCPC and CSP Registration.
- Pitch Side Trauma Management qualification (ITMMiF).
- To complete an Enhanced DBS check upon offer acceptance.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Experience of field-based sports rehabilitation.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A strong motivator, with high enthusiasm.
- Student of the profession, looking to improve and develop.
