DAPP UK is an established charity operating across several locations in the UK. We collect, sort, grade and resell donated clothing and goods through our charity shops to raise funds for international development projects and to promote textile reuse and sustainability.
Our Derby shop is looking for a reliable and flexible Shop Assistant to join the team.
The Role
As a Shop Assistant, you will help create a welcoming and well-organised shopping environment for customers and donors.
This is a customer-facing role requiring confidence, initiative and the ability to work independently.
This is a zero hours position. Hours are offered based on shop needs, including weekday and weekend shifts.
Applicants must be 18 years or over.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist customers in finding items and provide friendly service
-Operate the till and process payments accurately
-Replenish stock on the shop floor
-Hang, steam and prepare donated clothing for display
-Attach price tags and follow brand pricing guidelines
-Balance cash at the end of shifts
-Maintain a clean and organised shop environment
-Work independently on the shop floor when required
-Person Specification
-Friendly and approachable manner
-Comfortable working with the public
-Able to work independently for 4–6 hour shifts
-Reliable and punctual
-Able to work at a steady pace when preparing stock
-Basic knowledge of fashion brands is desirable
-Previous retail experience preferred
-Working Pattern
-Day shifts
-Weekend availability required
-Flexible availability across the week is essential
