Summary
Job Title: Assistant Club Manager
Location: RAF Menwith Hill
Work Hours Per Week 37.5
Salary (Per Hour) £17.44 - £24.20
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Operations Manager for the club complex and be responsible for overseeing club operations and performing personnel management duties as an assistant manager. You will assist in planning, organizing, and directing the activities, ensuring they comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. As part of your duties as the supervisor, you will analyze, appraise, and provide input to the financial aspects of the operation on a day-to-day basis to ensure that financial standards and goals are met. In addition, you will represent the club complex with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Qualification required:
Master's degree in the appropriate discipline. or
2 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to a degree in the appropriate discipline. or
a minimum of one year's specialized experience in the Key Skills and Abilities indicated.
This position is only available to UK Nationals. Applicants must hold UK citizenship and have lived in the UK for at least 8 years out of the last 10 years for this position.

Key Skills required for this role
1. Knowledge of commonly used policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques of club operations to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet legal and regulatory requirements and promote patronage.
2. Knowledge of the requirements, techniques, procedures, and practices of generally accepted facility and resource management principles, standards, and techniques.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Knowledge of budgetary requirements, internal controls, and resale and inventory principles to analyze and evaluate financial information.
5. Knowledge of market surveys and marketing techniques to determine membership desires and satisfaction with club activities.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of the club complex and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of the organization.
Conditions of employment for this role
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period
4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. You are subject to work other than normal duty hours, which may change daily due to the requirements of managing a 7 day-a-week operation, and may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
7. You will share in the responsibility for a sound industrial safety and security program.
8. You must be able to operate a government motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license (Category B).
9. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing
10. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on an as rostered schedule (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.
11. You will be required to observe US holidays in lieu of UK holidays.
NOTE: You will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
