Summary

Salad Chef - Lead with Passion, Cook with Purpose!

Location: Clifton College, 32 College Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 3JH

Salary: £14.22 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: 5 out of 7 days in a week (Predominantly Mon-Fri) 8:00 - 16:30

What You’ll Do:
  • Prepare and present salads to company and contract standards.
  • Follow Health & Safety, hygiene, fire, and COSHH regulations.
  • Manage allergens safely with clear communication.
  • Maintain correct portioning and control of raw materials.
  • Support the Head Chef with menus and ordering when needed.
  • Keep all food preparation and service areas clean and hygienic.
  • Maintain excellent personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Provide a friendly, polite, and efficient service to customers.
  • Attend required training and team meetings.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Sodexo team.
  • Report any accidents, hazards, or irregularities immediately.

What You Bring:
  • At least one year’s experience working in a kitchen.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • 706/2 or NVQ Level 2 chef qualification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
  • Previous catering experience with a strong passion for food, innovation, and team engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate preferred but not essential.
  • Good time‑management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to meet and maintain high standards, particularly regarding food hygiene.
  • Positive approach to learning and identifying personal training needs.
  • Self‑motivated with the initiative to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contribute to team development, and adapt successfully to change.
