Summary

Sheffield Theatres recognises the positive value of inclusion, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds.

We are committed to becoming a more diverse organisation, and particularly welcome applications from underrepresented voices including, but not limited to, D/deaf, Neurodivergent, Disabled people and the Global Majority.

We’re looking for an Operations Supervisor to join our brilliant and friendly Operations team on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is organised, proactive, and enjoys creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces. You’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of our venues, helping to ensure everyone who visits or works with us has a great experience.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Operations Assistants and Operations Officer to make sure our buildings are safe, compliant, and ready to use. You’ll build positive relationships across the organisation, help maintain high standards across all our venues and support strong Health & Safety and environmental practices.

At times, you’ll also spend time working on Stage Door, providing shift cover for Operations Assistants when needed and acting as a friendly, reliable first point of contact for visitors, companies, and colleagues. The role includes evening and weekend work to cover shifts and to support events across our venues.

Join us and become part of a welcoming, professional team committed to creating safe, well‑managed spaces for everyone to enjoy.

How to Apply

As part of the application process, we’ll ask you a few questions (these may vary depending on the role) and invite you to upload a CV that outlines your work experience and qualifications.

One key question we ask that will be part of the scoring process is:
“Please give examples of how your skills, abilities, and experience equip you for this role. We’d also like to understand your reasons for applying.”

This replaces a traditional cover letter and is your opportunity to explain why you’re a great fit for the role you are applying for. We recommend using the job description and person specification as a guide when writing your response.

We understand that everyone communicates differently, so you can choose the format that works best for you. This could be a written application, or you might prefer to record a video or audio file instead. If you choose video or audio, please keep your CV and application combined to no longer than 7 minutes.

If you need any support or have questions about the process, we’re here to help! Email us at recruitment@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.
