The Role
A locum Senior Children’s Occupational Therapist is required to ensure business continuity during a period of long‑term sickness leave. The postholder will deliver specialist OT assessments and interventions for children and young people, supporting their functional development, independence and participation in daily activities. The role requires strong clinical reasoning, effective multi‑agency working and the ability to manage a varied caseload within statutory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality occupational therapy assessments for children and young people with a range of physical, developmental and sensory needs.

Develop and implement evidence‑based intervention plans to support functional independence at home, school and in the community.

Work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals and wider multi‑disciplinary teams.

Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and provide professional reports and recommendations.

Maintain accurate clinical records in line with service standards and regulatory requirements.

Support service continuity and workflow during the existing locum’s period of leave.

Candidate Requirements
HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist.

Minimum 2 years post‑ASYE experience.

Minimum 3 years permanent post‑qualification experience (DFE requirement).

Enhanced DBS & Barred List (Adults).

Experience working within children’s services or paediatric OT settings.

Strong assessment, communication and multi‑agency collaboration skills.
