Infrastructure Planner Lcoation: Crewe
Shift: Monday to Friday | Days | 35 hours per week
Salary: £24,000 rising to £30,000 after 6-month probation

You don’t need previous rail experience — we’re looking for individuals with strong transferable skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work logically and methodically.
The Role As an Infrastructure Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring train operations run efficiently, safely, and profitably. You’ll work closely with internal departments and industry partners to deliver high-quality operational plans that meet industry standards and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and delivering weekly train plans in line with Network Rail and industry standards
- Producing efficient train crew diagrams to optimise driver resources
- Liaising with internal teams and industry contacts to ensure smooth operations
- Reviewing and analysing Network Rail documentation and possession orders
- Supporting continuous improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent planning and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Logical and analytical mindset with strong numeracy skills
- Strong communication and collaborative approach
- Good IT and computer literacy skills
- Ability to learn and operate specialist planning systems
Previous experience in planning, logistics, transport, scheduling, operations or a similar analytical role would be advantageous but is not essential.
