Summary
Are you ready to take your career to the next level and shape the future of electrical infrastructure? UKPN Services is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join our Stansted Regional Office. This is a permanent position, offering you a pivotal role in driving excellence and innovation within our projects. Imagine yourself at the heart of a team delivering complex capital and recharge (NAMP) projects, where your leadership will ensure safety, timely delivery, cost control, and the highest standards of quality-all to satisfy our client's requirements and ambitions.
What makes this opportunity truly stand out? We offer a competitive salary of £80,574, plus a car and a 3% bonus, alongside a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your lifestyle and wellbeing. Enjoy 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, reservist leave options, and a generous personal pension plan where your contributions are matched up to 10%. Benefit from tenancy loan deposit and season ticket schemes, as well as tax-efficient options including cycle to work, home & tech, and green car leasing. Your health is our priority, with occupational health support, discounted gym membership, and access to our Employee Assistance Programme. Plus, our Switched On reward scheme offers discounts at hundreds of retailers.
Step into this role with the responsibility for initiating, planning, designing, executing, monitoring, and closing high-value projects, managing annual works costs of £10 million and ensuring all project milestones are met. You will coordinate with the Project Programmer to develop and review schedules, align plans across all electrical works, and guarantee robust governance and contract management using NEC frameworks. Your reporting ensures transparency and accountability to all stakeholders, while you champion stakeholder engagement to sustain high perception of project value. From managing risks, issues and dependencies to guaranteeing health, safety, and environmental standards, you'll lead every phase from Gate A to Gate D, maintaining control over budget, time, and quality. Your commitment to change management and assurance will ensure every project meets its agreed criteria, and you will actively contribute to contingency strategies and team clarity, managing requirements, design, implementation, commissioning, and testing.
Bring your expertise in 33kV and 11kV distribution networks and substations, and your proven capability in cost and change management. Your analytical skills will be key in resolving complex situations and balancing daily delivery, event management, and planned maintenance without compromise. You will operate independently, resolve challenges inclusively, and build robust client relationships. Compliance with legal HSE obligations and CDM standards is paramount, as is regular performance reporting and site audits. You'll collaborate with Cost Managers and the Commercial Team to support financial performance and ensure payment accuracy, while keeping delivery programmes up to date and attending regular client meetings.
If you have an HNC or similar in Electrical Engineering, or demonstrable experience in electrical distribution infrastructure, we want to hear from you. Knowledge of NRSWA, PRINCE2, APM, NEC4, or Primavera is desirable, and essential qualifications include SMSTS, IOSH, and UK driving licence. You must be able to achieve project-related Security Clearance and provide proof of UK residency for five years or more.
Your commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility will be matched by ours: managers and employees share the legal and company duty to ensure safe, responsible operations, protecting all individuals affected by our work. We value diversity and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer-your unique perspective will be welcomed and respected here.
Ready to make your mark in a role that rewards your ambition and expertise? Apply by 03/03/2026 and join us at UKPN Services, Stansted, where your leadership will power the future.
