We’re proud to work in partnership with Anglian Water and are looking for an Assistant Network Technician to join our team, helping deliver safe, high-quality drinking water to customers every day.

This role plays a key part in protecting water quality across the network, helping to deliver safe, clean drinking water to customers every day.

Working as part of our operational team, you’ll carry out planned and reactive water quality activities across the distribution network. This is a field-based role, working outdoors with underground assets, travelling across local and wider areas, and supporting both routine maintenance and incident response. Flexibility is essential, including out-of-hours working when required.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Surveying, inspecting, and maintaining the water distribution network, including valves and critical assets
  • Carrying out valve operations and flushing
  • Locating assets and updating digital network records using GIS systems
  • Completing risk assessments and following approved safe systems of work
  • Undertaking water quality sampling and monitoring across the network and customer properties
  • Low velocity turnover flushing of the water distribution network
  • Asset inspection of the water distribution network. (air valves, critical valves
  • Water quality system surveys (chlorine residual monitoring etc in customer premises and the water distribution

You enjoy hands on, outdoor work and take pride in delivering high-quality, safe outcomes.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Previous experience within water networks, mains laying, service connections, or a similar utilities environment would be beneficial.

An interest in water quality testing, asset performance and continuous improvement.

Relevant industry certifications such as EUSR Water Hygiene, SHEA Water, sampling, or mains disinfection are desirable.

A positive, customer-focused attitude, flexibility to support out-of-hours work, and a willingness to learn, upskill, and contribute to a strong health and safety culture will support success in this position.
