The Opportunity
Our client who are a leading manufacturing company working with luxury high end automotive and Motorsport clients have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join their Laminating Team. Having previous laminating experience ideally as a Team Leader, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be managing the efficient running of the department, assisting with training and development of the department and the running of the Clean Room.
The Role.
A typical day as the Laminating Team Leader will include the following
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of composite laminators across multiple workstations
- Supervision of Laminators to ensure they have all the information, equipment, inserts etc. required to complete the day's jobs
- Allocate daily tasks based on skill level, workload, and production priorities.
- Provide hands on guidance in laminating techniques, layup processes, and best practices.
- Ensure all laminating activities follow approved work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor work flow to maintain on time delivery of components and assemblies.
- Fault finding - pro-actively seeking laminating errors.
To train and progress Laminators.
Be involved with raising QMS lines and investigative meetings to understand root cause.
Feedback to operatives to prevent issues from repeating. - Carry out appraisals and disciplinary hearings as and when required.
- On a rota basis provide supervision support during hours of overtime.

Skills & Attributes required
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will posses the following
- Strong background in composite laminating, ideally within carbon fibre automotive sectors - Minimum of 5 years.
- Experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent understanding of prepreg layup, vacuum bagging, curing processes, and composite materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Strong communication, problem solving, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Calm, confident leadership style with the ability to motivate others.
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Have a proactive, solutions focused mindset.
- Comfortable working in a very busy and deadline driven environment.
- Flexible attitude and be able to multi-task.
