About the Role
This role focuses on developing employability, catering, and hospitality skills for SEND learners within a food outlet setting based at Kirkley Hall campus. The role supports learners through structured skill development, mentoring, and preparation for work. This position offers direct impact on learner outcomes, strong collaboration with curriculum and support teams, and continued professional development in SEND and inclusive practice. You work within a real working environment using industry standard equipment and processes.
Role Responsibilities
• Support SEND learners within a campus based food outlet
• Develop practical catering and hospitality skills aligned to work standards
• Coach learners in employability, behaviour, and workplace routines
• Monitor learner progress and contribute to support planning
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health standards
• Work closely with teaching, SEND, and employer engagement teams
Qualifications
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or higher
• English and maths at Level 2
Essential Skills and Experience
• Experience working in catering or hospitality settings
• Experience supporting SEND learners or vulnerable young people
• Strong mentoring or coaching experience
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practice
• Ability to support learners toward work readiness and independence
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
