Our client is a growing construction business seeking a reliable, hands-on General Foreman to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a key hire within a scaling company, offering genuine long-term progression opportunities.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for an experienced carpenter or multi-trade builder who is confident leading small teams while remaining actively involved in site work.
The RoleThe General Foreman will lead small site teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will work alongside the team daily while overseeing programme, quality and client communication.
Key Responsibilities-
Leading and instructing small installation teams on customer sites

Implementing structured construction systems and build processes

Hands-on construction work including timber framing, cladding, insulation, windows and doors, plasterboarding, flooring, roofing, decorating and finishing

Problem-solving on site and managing day-to-day operational challenges

Ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction are maintained

Working within the Tunbridge Wells workshop on pre-fabrication as required

Communicating effectively with clients and updating them on progress

Contributing ideas to improve efficiency and build quality

Workshop based in Kent

Customer sites across London and the South East (typically within one hour of Central London, inside or close to the M25)

Primarily site-based and outdoors when not working in the workshop

Multi-skilled builder or carpenter with strong woodworking ability

Minimum three to five years' experience in construction or carpentry

Experience leading or supervising small teams

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet

Good communication skills with both team members and clients

Ability to follow structured systems and processes

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience

Permanent, full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm)
