The Opportunity

This post represents an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic and experienced team of social work educators. , We are looking for an ambitious and team-focussed person, who is passionate about the role of social work, to join the Social Work team in Keele University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, School of Medicine. The wider School and Faculty provide a very strong interprofessional context within which this post is located; something we are seeking to make more of in our work with students.

The successful applicant will provide teaching, supervision and pastoral support to students at all levels of study (undergraduate, postgraduate), as agreed with the Programme Director, and will engage in associated preparation and assessment work, as well as contributing to the selection of students and other ‘citizenship’ activities.

To be an appropriate candidate for this role:

• You will be a registered social worker – registered with Social Work England or eligible to be registered.
• You will have a social work qualification and have a qualification to at least postgraduate level (such as a PG Cert. Diploma or full Masters award)
• You will have experience in social work practice within the UK, ideally within adult or mental health services, or within more specialist child and family services.
• Whilst days of the week are negotiable at the point of offer of the position, it is expected that Wednesday mornings would form part of the regular working pattern due to the timing of regular staff meetings.
