Summary

Hampshire County Council
Do you care about wildlife and have a talent for clear, impactful communication?
Bird Aware Solent is looking for a Ranger to join its friendly and passionate team. Our rangers raise awareness of the importance of coastal birds within the Solent’s three Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and encourage responsible recreation on the coast.
The focus of this role will be providing a positive and engaging presence on the coast, speaking with visitors of all ages and backgrounds to encourage responsible behaviour through supportive, face to face engagement.
You will help deliver public events such as guided walks, talks and family friendly activities.
In addition to your engagement work, you will have responsibility for coordinating and developing signage across Solent sites. You will work closely with partners, land managers and stakeholders to design and deliver consistent, behaviour change led messaging that supports the protection of coastal birds.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills, enjoy engaging with the public, and have strong attention to detail when developing signage.
A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes are essential.
If you’re passionate about coastal wildlife and enthused by helping people connect with nature, we’d love to hear from you.
