Summary

All about the Role

We are seeking a proactive, empathetic, and highly organised Traveller Liaison Officer to join our team. This is a vital role focused on supporting Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller (GRT) communities, ensuring positive engagement, access to services, and effective site management.

You will act as the main point of contact between Traveller communities, the local authority, partner agencies, and local residents. Your work will help promote community cohesion, resolve concerns promptly, and support individuals to access essential services including housing, education, health, and welfare.

Key Responsibilities
Build positive, respectful relationships with Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities.
Provide advice, support, and advocacy to individuals and families accessing local services.
Support the effective management and upkeep of Traveller sites, reporting issues and ensuring safety and compliance.
Respond to enquiries and concerns from the public and stakeholders, promoting understanding and fair treatment.
Maintain accurate case records, site reports, and data to inform service planning.
Contribute to policies and initiatives aimed at improving outcomes and inclusion for GRT communities.
Work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends based on service needs.
