Summary
The Best Connection is currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Waste & Recycling Operative to join our client's busy team based in Sunderland. This role is ideal for someone who is practical, organised, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transporting various waste bins to the waste and baling compounds
- Segregating and sorting different grades of plastic and other recyclable materials
- Operating a compactor and baling equipment safely and efficiently
- Loading waste streams into skips
- Bulking waste into IBCs and securely wrapping pallets for collection
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT)
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
- Working independently and liaising with head office as required
About You:
- Valid FLT Counterbalance licence - essential
- Able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Good communication skills
Pay rate:
- £12.82 per hour
Hours of work:
- Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
The role is being offered on an ongoing basis with an opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
