Resettlement Officer
Location: Camden House, City Centre
Salary: £27,924.41 per annum
Hours: Rota will be a mix of earlies and lates (between 7 am and 7pm) over 7 days with some weekend work.

As a Resettlement Worker at YMCA Together, you will be an empathetic and caring individual dedicated to providing unconditional support to those experiencing homelessness and the effects of past traumatic incidents. Your role will involve supporting those you work alongside to create a safe and lasting future home.
Everyone goes through periods of crisis at some point, and some individuals require additional support to navigate these challenging times. Your responsibility will be to find suitable move on accommodation from your base at Camden House.
What your week may look like
Holding regular meetings with support teams to identify the needs of the service users and what style of move on accommodation is currently needed.
Liaising with local landlords and RSl’s to stay fully aware of the local housing markets and create dynamic pathways across the sectors.
Supporting the day-to-day running of Camden house ensuring that you build up therapeutic relationships with those living in the service.
Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings
Attend training to increase skills and as part of CPD.

The skills we are looking for
EXPERIENCE– ideally, you will have a background of working within a charity, community project and/or previous involvement in homeless service or working .You will have experience of creating housing pathways for those that have experienced homelessness and be have an understanding of the local housing market.
KNOWLEDGE – A basic understanding of relevant and appropriate legislation, including welfare benefits and housing law. You will understand requirements around the duty to house from a statutory service perspective and be able to provide sound advice regarding tenancy rights.
COMMUNICATION – excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate efficiently when English is not first language. Being able to foster a respectful, collaborative and professional approach to the people who you work alongside, always ensuring confidentiality. Be able to confidently communicate with other professionals and create a atmosphere of clear and open communication between different services .
EMPATHY and RESPECT – The ability to empower people to make positive changes, showing empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries
COMMITMENT – The ability to work in an innovative and solutions-focused way, including reflecting and learning as you go, and a willingness to flex and adapt approaches as needed
ORGANISATION – Strong time management and the ability to manage to prioritise tasks
COMPUTER LITERACY – You will be IT literate and have experience of working with multiple software programs such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
What is a nice to have
Background of working with RSL and private landlords in the Liverpool city region.
Background of providing support to those who have experienced trauma
Understanding of homeless pathways .
Experience of directly working alongside The housing solutions teams to ensure correct pathways are in place.
