Are you an experienced fleet professional ready to take the next step?

Do you thrive in a fast-paced operational environment where safety, compliance and efficiency are key?

We're looking for a Fleet Operations Lead to help manage and optimise a fleet of around 1,000 vehicles (primarily LCVs) and support the day‑to‑day running of a safe, compliant and cost‑effective operation. This is a pivotal role that ensures our people stay safe, our vehicles stay on the road, and our business keeps moving.

  • Oversee daily fleet operations to maximise vehicle uptime and safety.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, ensuring strong performance, SLA delivery, and value for money.
  • Support the coordination and compliance of 250 grey fleet vehicles, including licence checks, insurance, and safety standards.
  • Allocate tasks across the Fleet team and monitor outputs.
  • Produce accurate, timely MI reports covering VOR, compliance, vehicle condition, spend, incidents and trends.
  • Analyse fleet data to identify root causes, inefficiencies, cost trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet legal and safety requirements - MOT, inspections, servicing and more.
  • Review damage, risk and incident data to inform improvements.
  • Maintain the accuracy of fleet management systems and holistic fleet data.
  • Monitor and challenge fleet costs including maintenance, fuel, accidents, downtime, tolls and parking.
  • Act as a key point of contact for fleet suppliers, escalating issues where required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to resolve operational challenges.
  • Deputise for the National Fleet Manager when needed and support strategic projects.

  • Experience in fleet operations, transport administration or maintenance coordination.
  • Strong understanding of LCV/van maintenance, compliance and fleet processes.
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data and build meaningful reports.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experienced in using fleet management systems, leasing structures and maintenance workflows.
  • A proactive problem‑solver with great decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Fleet‑specific qualifications are desirable, but we also welcome candidates willing to work towards them.
