What skills and experience we're looking for

Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with the Local Monitoring Committee of St Dennis Primary Academy, are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Headteacher to join the team.

St Dennis Primary Academy is a happy, creative and exciting place to be, our children enjoy coming to school and our committed staff ensure it’s a place where learning and fun go hand in hand by providing many opportunities to explore, investigate and be creative. We look to instil a positive ethos of high expectations and respect for one another. Our six core values are at the very heart of all we do: aspiration, courage, achievement, teamwork, responsibility and friendship.

We pride ourselves on our caring, nurturing and engaging environment, in which every child can thrive, feel safe and achieve. Because of this, our children feel good about themselves, are happy and love coming to school. Relationships are central to this, so we value working together with our families and the local community. The school caters for children between the ages of 2 and 11 with an onsite nursery in a purpose-built building providing opportunities for younger children. We currently have 190 pupils on roll and offer a rich and diverse curriculum, as well as a full programme of before and after-school activities.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have recent senior leadership experience and will share our vision and values. Individuals must demonstrate a significant contribution to primary school improvement and an enthusiasm to embrace the opportunities of leading this already flourishing and happy school with a strong community identity.
