Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the potential for occasional weekend working
Permanent 52-week contract
The Avenue Special Needs School, based in Tilehurst in Reading, supports over 250 pupils aged 3-19 with severe or profound learning difficulties, physical disabilities and autism. Conveniently located, the school is easily accessiblevia multiple local bus routes, and on-site parking is available. It’s a great place to work with friendly colleagues, an excellent work life balance and good terms and conditions of employment.
We are looking for a hard-working, dependable, self-motivated person to join our Team as a Site Assistant.
The key responsibilities of this role will be to ensure the safety and security of the school premises, carry out general maintenance and minor repair work, liaise with contractors, general porterage duties, lock and unlock the school premises, and deal with any unexpected emergencies.
Along with having good standards of practical DIY skills, the successful candidate will be punctual, flexible, have a ‘can do’ attitude, a good awareness of Health & Safety, and excellent communication skills. A DBS check is essential for this role.
