Hours per week:
Full time 37 hours per week.
Required hours: Mon-Fri 10.15/30 – 18.15/30, lunchtimes negotiable.

The Governors of Horsforth Newlaithes Primary School are seeking to appoint a Superintendent who will work to support the school in all areas of maintenance, cleanliness, health and safety and security. The successful candidate will work with the Headteacher and Business Manager to ensure that pupils, staff, governors and visitors are able to work in a welcoming, clean and safe environment.
Our ideal candidate will be:
a hardworking and reliable individual who will play a key part in maintaining and improving our school environment and who will have a sense of pride in their role and in our school.
able to maintain high standards of cleanliness/workmanship within the school and be competent in carrying out basic building maintenance work i.e. minor plumbing, repairs, joinery etc. in an efficient and safe manner.
able to organise and prioritise work effectively.
aware of health and safety requirements and be able to identify any health and safety risks and deal with accordingly.
complete relevant risk assessments.
able to work on their own initiative and be proactive.
an effective communicator.
a problem solver.
be computer literate.
willing to contribute positively to promote the values and ethos of our school, promote sustainable practice, fit well into our school team and develop good relationships with the local community.
The role does have a daily cleaning commitment and will also involve supervising a team of cleaners. Experience of supervising cleaners and/or using floor maintenance machines would be desirable.
Knowledge and experience of health and safety procedures are essential. We would like the successful candidate to liaise with and organise contractors.
The post is full-time, 37 hours a week.
Occasionally weekend working or late night closing would be required depending on school events.
The post is permanent, subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
