25 hours a week, term time plus one week inset/twilights (equivalent to 39 weeks)
Closing date: Sunday 8 March 2026
Start date: 13 April 2026
Archway school is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (Qualified) for 25 hours a week, term time only plus one week for Inset, twilight training sessions and meetings. This is to support a student with an EHCP who needs physical assistance to allow him to access the curriculum and be included fully in the life of the school.
Your normal hours of work will be from Monday to Friday from 9.10am until 3.10pm with a 20-minute unpaid morning break and a 40-minute unpaid lunch break. If you are looking for more hours, then we could offer 27.5 hours a week with an 8.40am start to cover registration. Similarly, we would consider reducing the number of hours for the right candidate.
Please see the job description and person specification within the application pack for full details of the position.
To apply please complete the application form which is available to download from the school website under the “vacancies” tab. Please click on the Teaching Assistant vacancy, which will take applicants to eTeach, then click “apply now”. The completed application form must be submitted via email in either Word or PDF format. Please do not send in CVs or other supporting documents as these will not be considered.
All applications will be acknowledged by email. If you do not receive an acknowledgement or have any other issues or questions, please contact Niamh Cooney via phone or email. Prior to the interview date referees will be contacted to request references on all shortlisted candidates, where you have given us your consent to do so. We are unable to provide feedback to applicants who are not shortlisted for interview.
We reserve the right to close the vacancy earlier than the advertised date if considered appropriate.
Archway school is an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from people with protected characteristics such as age, gender reassignment, being married or in a civil partnership, being pregnant or on maternity leave, disability, race including colour, nationality or ethnicity, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
As part of our due diligence for safer recruitment, the school may carry out online searches for shortlisted candidates to help identify any incidents or issues which may need to be explored at interview. The searches would be made on open-source information and may include, but will not be limited to, the main social networking sites, including Instagram and Facebook.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and therefore expects all staff and volunteers to share this same commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
