Summary
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the patient is fit for an anaesthetic during surgery. This will involve taking a patients full medical history, and the ordering of investigations as deemed necessary
The main duties of the role are to access a patients suitability and fitness for surgery and anaesthesia using agreed protocols. The successful post holder will be expected to take a full detailed patient history. Carry out a Clinical examination of the patient. Where identified you will be required to order diagnostic tests and action results obtained.
The candidate will require excellent communication skills, and the need to communicate with a wide range of disciplines is essential .

The post holder will be required to ensure a patient fitness to undergo an anaesthetic. The clinics are predominately nurse led, and will involve a physical examination of the patient along with obtaining a full medical history. Where identified the post holder will undertake the ordering of appropriate investigations and actioning any results.
