As the Specialist Clinical Pharmacist - Integrated Urgent Care (IUC), you will provide leadership and advice on all matters associated with medicines optimisation and clinical pharmacy services across the Trust and within our NHS 111 service;driving service improvement using technology to enable the best and most efficient use of resources.
Quality improvement is a key part of thisroleandyou will use incidents, nationalguidanceand best practice to develop education programmes that meet the needs of our staff and our patients.
The core responsibilities for this role are:
• To ensure that the Trust is compliant with the legal and statutory requirements in relation to all matters that pertain to medicines governance, management and optimisation.
• To support the Deputy Chief Pharmacist with 111 medicines optimisation, IUC antimicrobial stewardship and IUC non-medical prescribing workstreams such as quarterly prescribing reports, extracting and analysing data from NHSBSA and supervising pharmacy student audit projects and placements.
• To support activities in the Medicines Distribution Centre (MDC) as required for high quality service delivery.
• To deliver teaching sessions to paramedics, medical and nursing staff and other health care professionals as requested.
• Provide expert and specialist knowledge in relation to medicinal products and their use as well as assist in the development of new clinical protocols and treatment options including the development of patient group directions (PGDs).
• Develop guidelines, policies and procedures for medicines use within the Trust as required.
• Represent SECAmb Medicines Optimisation Team at relevant meetings and working groups across the system.
• Act as a supervisor and mentor for projects and audits, including those with relevant pharmacy undergraduate students.
• To plan and review pharmacy undergraduate placements.

You will also:
• Develop systems to ensure medicinal products are stored appropriately and securely on all Trust premises and vehicles, complying with national, statutory and local requirements
• Assist the Chief and Deputy Chief Pharmacists on all matters relating to medicine management and governance within the Trust
• Contribute to medicines management within designated areas to ensure the requirements of CQC and other key governance frameworks are met.
