Summary

As a Degree Apprentice Development Surveyor at TfGM, you’ll learn by doing - you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting and bringing forward live and new housing and regeneration projects with colleagues across TfGM, GMCA, local authorities and external partners, that support the Mayor’s priorities, and contribute to the region’s long-term growth.
As part of your apprenticeship, you will study at the University of Salford, working towards the Level 6 Chartered Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship. To join the programme, you’ll need to meet the university’s minimum entry requirements:
- Alevels: 104 Tariff points (two full Alevels minimum), or
- BTEC: MMM (Merit, Merit, Merit), or
- TLevel: Merit

Your Role
As a Degree Apprentice Development Surveyor you’ll support our Estates and Development team in bringing forward regeneration and housing schemes that contribute towards the Mayor’s affordable housing objectives, all while studying your Level 6 Surveyor apprenticeship!
You’ll help assess feasibility, gather site data, prepare reports, support stakeholder engagement, and contribute to both development and estates management activities. Over the course of the programme, you will learn on the job, building the competencies needed for RICS chartership. With that foundation, you’ll be best placed to progress into Development Surveyor roles and take on greater responsibility leading workstreams that deliver social and economic value across the region.

You’ll be joining our Estates & Development function within Financial and Corporate Services. Our team plays a key role in unlocking housing, regeneration, and commercial opportunities that benefit residents, businesses and communities across Greater Manchester!
We work collaboratively with colleagues across TfGM, the GMCA, Local Authorities and partners to deliver projects that shape places, improve the public estate and support long-term growth. A key area or work is looking at affordable housing and housing delivery to create new homes with development partners. term growth.

The academic qualifications required for entry onto the Salford University apprenticeship programme:
- A levels 104 Tariff point BCC (two full A levels minimum), or
- BTEC MMM, or
- T Level Merit
Commitment to completing the Level 6 Chartered Surveyor apprenticeship and working towards RICS membership.

This is a 5-year apprenticeship where your starting salary will be £28,069 per annum which will increase incrementally. By the end of your course, you will be earning £36,242!
