KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Head of Radiotherapy Other Advanced Practice and Superintendent Therapeutic Radiographers Therapeutic radiographers and Assistants Radiotherapy medical physics team Clinical scientists, dosimetrists, engineering Radiotherapy medical team Osborne nursing staff Chemotherapy unit staff Cancer Information team Clinical Nurse Specialists Patients and Carers Support staff Oncology administration Volunteers Regulatory bodies for Radiotherapy KEY RESULT AREAS Use specialist knowledge to make judgments on how to achieve the best treatment for patients from a range of options. In collaboration with Clinical Oncologists discuss complex cases to ensure patients receive the best care. To ensure that consistently high standards of customer service are delivered at all times. Service Delivery & Development Able to plan workloads for own area of specialism from both a patient and staff perspective. Able to organise the workload to optimise the through put of activity. Able to organise the reassignment of activity in the event of breakdowns or unexpected events such as fire alarms. Able to organise and plan ongoing service improvement projects including working with the multidisciplinary team. Organise and deliver training sessions including supporting staff to achieve clinical competency. Governance Be accountable for their own actions acting as a professional radiographer. To be the lead for area of specialism acting independently to manage their own workload and giving advice to others. To work in accordance with the Trust policies and procedures and adhere to the local QMS. Patient/Customer Service To provide a highly specialised service to patients. Able to make complex decisions to ensure patients receive the correct care. Able to provide patients, their carers and other healthcare professionals with specialist advice relating to their treatment and care. Able to obtain consent in line with the Trust policy. Able to recognise when advice needs to be sought from other healthcare providers or services. To ensure that consistently high standards of customer service are delivered at all times. To advise and support patients and their carers should they have any concerns or complaints. To record and investigate errors using the Datix system in a timely manner. Ensure that the Health and Safety of patients, staff and visitors to the department is maintained. Research Actively engage in any relevant research or trials undertaken within the department. Carry out audit and research in area of specialism and contribute to related areas. Promote research and audit and encourage other staff to take part in these activities.
