The Leicestershire Warm Homes service sits as part of the Public Health, Law and Governance Department, Community Delivery arm and is pleased to be recruiting for the position of Warm Homes Administrator.

The role will provide support to the wider Warm Homes Team who provide information, advice, and guidance, delivering projects to enable and maintain warm and healthy homes.

You will support and be a part of the Warm Homes Team in the raising of awareness of fuel poverty indicators, the service offer and encourage warm home initiatives to support people to maintain their well-being, live independently, comfortably and safely in their homes and reduce incidence of fuel poverty and excess winter deaths linked to cold homes.

About the Role

The key duties of the role will be:

  • Triage of incoming referrals to the Warm Homes telephone line
  • Log referrals onto case management system
  • To provide support to the Warm Homes Team e.g. inputting referrals, mail outs, room bookings. Managing Warm Homes telephone line, giving basic information and signposting where appropriate via telephone, email and letter, and escalate queries to Warm Homes Team members as appropriate.
  • Maintain Warm Homes service email inboxes and dealing with queries as appropriate.
  • Providing administrative support for meetings including taking minutes.
  • Manage stock of winter wellness pack items


Currently the role is likely to involve a hybrid model of home and office-based working.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • NVQ2 in Business Administration, equivalent qualification OR relevant demonstrable experience in a customer facing environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to adapt to deal with a wide range of customers
  • A good knowledge of Public Health services
  • Previous administrative experience at a similar level
  • Use of ICT applications relevant to the post, i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher
  • Experience of administrative support of events and training i.e. booking places, room bookings, confirmations etc.

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
