Summary
An Early Years Practitioner (EYP) works in a range of early years settings delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) including; full day-care, children’s centres, playgroups, pre-schools, nursery schools, reception. This apprenticeship is a great opportunity to build your career in the Early Years sector.
Apprentice wage
Apprentice wage of £7.55 per hour for the first 12 months and minimum wage thereafter.
Hours
Monday to Friday. Weekly rotation of 8:00am - 4:00pm and 9:00am - 5:00pm.
37.5 hours a week
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and early years education to children aged 0-5.
Observe, assess, and document children's progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Work closely with the team to plan and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of individual children.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ensure that children are safe, and their well-being is always a priority.
Promote and encourage positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional development.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Support with daily routines, including mealtimes, nappy changes, and nap times.
Participate in regular team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Support children’s development through age-appropriate activities and play-based learning.

Entry Requirements
Level 2 Early Years Educator qualification
Experience working directly with children aged birth to five under the EYFS, in a setting that delivers EYFS requirements.
Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths GCSE, or willingness to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 if not already held.
Apprenticeship Details
Duration: 18-24 months including up to 3 months for End Point Assessment.
Delivery: Mix of online and face-to-face training, monthly training events, plus online webinars and resources.
