Summary
About the Direct Payment Holder A is happy 8 year old, he is Autistic and has PICA. A is non verbal and communicates by leading, some signing & PECS.
A enjoys being outside, going for walks or to the park where he likes to run around and hunt for insects, he also likes to visit farms/zoos and a local cathedral.
A struggles with noisy environments and male voices.
A’s favourite colour is black and he is drawn to anything that colour when out or in shops.
A is very scared of dogs.
Hours and rate of pay hours Hours to be used flexibly in the school holidays/some weekends 72.5 hours in total paid at £13.50 per hour.
Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.

What you would be doing…
Keeping A safe when accessing places of interest, A requires constant supervision particularly around his PICA.
Engaging/encouraging A with different activities to improve & develop skills.
Supporting A with nappy changes, washing hands etc.,
Required skills and experience It is essential you have experience of supporting others with Autism as it is important you have an understanding of the challenges/behaviours the condition can bring.
You will need access to your own vehicle, with appropriate insurance due to the remote location and poor public transport links. (mileage will be paid)
Someone who is friendly, kind & understanding with good communication skills
A can display some challenging behaviours usually from frustration and can throw objects or himself to the floor, you will need to learn triggers for this behaviour and the different methods used to move on from this.
Excellent spoken English is essential to aid communication.
