A rapidly growing UK-based group is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their expanding Central Accounting Services Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a large, fast‑paced finance function that supports a wide portfolio of group companies.


Role Overview


You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality transactional accounting services across multiple group businesses. Full training will be provided on‑site at the Helsby office, with the opportunity to work 1 day from home per week after successfully completing a six‑month probation period.


Key Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices and employee expenses using a paperless automated accounts system across multi‑currency databases
  • Verifying receipts against company expense policies and identifying VAT reclaimable under HMRC guidelines
  • Handling supplier queries and responding to payment requests
  • Verifying supplier bank details to ensure accurate and secure payment processing
  • Processing weekly supplier and employee expense payment runs
  • Reviewing CIS deductions and assisting with the completion of returns

Person Specification

  • AAT or equivalent accounting qualification (advantageous), or qualified by experience
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial information
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach
