Summary

National Express is looking for a Senior FP&A Revenue Analyst who can do far more than crunch numbers. We want someone who can translate complex performance into clear actions and influence decisions that shape how millions of people travel every year.

Supporting a £300m revenue Coach business, this is a highly visible role sitting at the heart of our UK and Ireland business. You'll partner with pricing, sales, marketing and operations, becoming the go‑to expert for revenue, margin and commercial performance.

If you love getting under the skin of what drives results, challenging assumptions and turning insight into impact, this is your stage.

What you’ll do

  • Own detailed revenue and route level gross margin insight across services, segments and customer channels - understanding the trade offs between price, volume, passenger mix and network utilisation
  • Partner with commercial and operational teams to support pricing, product mix and optimisation decisions with robust margin impact analysis
  • Lead performance conversations, proactively translating insight into agreed actions and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify margin risks, opportunities and value levers - and ensure they are tracked through to delivery.
  • Support budgets, forecasts and long‑range plans with robust, commercially grounded analysis.
  • Ensure strong revenue governance, partnering with Financial Control to maintain accurate recognition, reconciliation and adherence to internal controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes, reporting and modelling.

What you’ll bring

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with strong post qualification experience in FP&A or commercial finance.
  • Advanced analytical and modelling skills, with the ability to turn complexity into clarity.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition in operational environments.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder‑influencing skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong controls mindset and advanced Excel capability.
  • Curiosity, commercial instinct and the confidence to challenge constructively.

What you get for bringing your expertise

We don’t just want great people, we look after them too. In addition to a competitive salary, when you join National Express, you’ll get:

  • Free bus and coach travel across the National Express network for you.
  • Complimentary travel for your nominated person (or bus travel for your partner).
  • Life assurance and a strong company pension.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
  • A private online GP service for quick, stress‑free support.

We’re building an inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we serve, and we actively welcome applications from everyone. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know, we’ve got you.

A quick heads‑up: if we receive a high number of applications, we may close the advert early. If this role feels like your next big step, now’s the time to jump in.

Things to Note...

At National Express, we are really proud of our health and safety record and as a result, we operate a Drugs and Alcohol Policy which is applicable to all employees.

As part of your initial assessment, we will complete Drug and Alcohol testing and you may be subject to random tests during your employment.
