Summary
The Imaging Department performs a large number of imaging investigations and interventions per annum in a variety of clinical settings such as interventional radiology, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear medicine and MRI An increasing amount of these are complex procedures being performed on patients from all areas of the Trust and can be acutely unwell, therefore a highly skilled nursing workforce is required - The nursing team participate in an on call rota, training is provided prior to going onto this rota. This means the nursing team can be contacted out of hours by the radiologist to assist in any emergency procedures as part of Major Trauma Centre - Regularly assumes responsibility for the area on a day-to-day basis, utilising knowledge of Trust standards, policies and procedures - To provide leadership and act as role model for other staff members - Contributes to the management of risk, both clinical and financial -Provides high quality care to patients and their families during the perioperative period - Reporting and documenting all relevant patient needs, communicating changes to other health professionals in the multidisciplinary team - Act as Practitioner in charge, in the absence of the Team Leader ensuring efficient allocation of staff and resources
