Cygnet Group are looking to hire a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our teams at Cygnet Heathers, Turls Hill and 12 Woodcross.
This is a full‑time role working 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:00/09:00–16:00/17:00), where you’ll help ensure a safe, well‑maintained, and supportive environment for the individuals in our care.
About Cygnet Heathers
Cygnet Heathers is a 20‑bed neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative rehabilitation service for men with mental health needs and acquired brain injury.
Our environment is designed to actively support recovery, with integrated spaces that promote engagement and aid the neurobehavioural rehabilitation process.
About Turls Hill
20A and 20B Turls Hill Road is a six‑bed community rehabilitation (Level 1) service for men who have progressed through the hospital pathway or who are referred directly from the community.
About Woodcross:
12 Woodcross Street is a two-bed community rehabilitation (level 1) service for men who have been able to progress through the hospital pathway at rehabilitation and recovery hospitals. We can also accept referrals directly from the community.
Your Role as a Maintenance Assistant
- Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service
- Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting, and general building work
- Maintain plant, services, and vehicles to ensure they remain in good working order
- Follow safe working practices and report faulty equipment or potential hazards
- Travel to other sites when required and occasionally be on‑call for emergency repairs outside normal hours
- Complete weekly fire alarm checks, including fire exits, door retaining devices, and emergency lighting
You Are:
- Experienced in painting and decorating (indoor and outdoor)
- Skilled in general maintenance and DIY
- Able to communicate clearly and record accurate maintenance information
- Willing to travel and hold a full, valid driving licence
- Ideally qualified to Level 2 Diploma in Painting & Decorating or Maintenance
- Friendly, conscientious, and a positive team player
