Our team and the individuals you'll support

As a Support Practitioner, no two days are ever the same; you'll be part of a fun, friendly team who supports five amazing and unique individuals with profound learning disabilities and complex needs to live in their shared home.

This is a hands-on role working closely with the individuals, ensuring that they feel safe, understood and empowered in their every day lives.

Building trusting, supportive relationships with the people we support
Providing emotional and practical support in their daily lives
Encouraging independence, confidence and wellbeing
Supporting with all aspects of daily life
Responding calmly and thoughtfully in situations
Working as part of a team to deliver the best support possible

This role would suit someone who: -

Is naturally caring and patient
Communicates clearly
Can set healthy boundaries while being supportive
Enjoys teamwork and learning
Wants to work in a meaningful and people-focused role
Is comfortable working on computers and/or tablets

You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and SSSC yearly registration fees too!

Shift Patterns

We have various contracts available, including weekend only contracts. As we’re dedicated to providing the best support possible, shifts patterns usually fall between the hours of 0645-2100 hours and waking nights (2100-0700 hours). Weekends and public holidays are worked on a rotational basis.

Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus an additional £20 for every waking night worked.

If you don't live in Strichen and are not a driver, we will need you to be mindful of the location of our service and be confident that you can travel for your shifts as there are very limited public transport links available that fit with our shift patterns.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
