Summary
We are looking to recruit a Locum Consultant in General Medicine at St Helier Hospital to work with our General Medicine team and engage closely as a downstream component of our Acute Medicine Department. Under close management and leadership of the Clinical Director, the general medicine service is undergoing development, and an additional appointee will play a crucial role in ensuring the continued success we have enjoyed over recent months in keeping with these developments.
The role is designed to provide a key interface with the Acute Medical Team with the potential to become an active component of the acute admissions pathway, helping to streamline patient flow through the AMU ward and onto specialty inpatient areas. This will help to maintain excellent patient care pathways with a focus on safe and effective high patient turnover.
These services represent a modernisation of our acute medical pathways, and the participating consultant should work closely with our speciality physicians to strive for excellent patient care. We recognise the importance of bringing specialty excellence into this service and as such wish to attract candidates looking to also maintain a specialty skill base.
