• Leadership and management experience in a school

• Demonstrable experience of successful line management and staff development
Skills and knowledge
• Understanding of high-quality teaching, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
• Ability to build effective working relationship
• Be willing to accept and respond positively to advice from subject and pastoral managers.
• Ability to support students/respond to parents through fluent and accurately spoken English.
• Have an understanding of the learning needs of less able students and be able to respond to them.
• Appreciate the needs of more able students and teach in a manner which acknowledges the need for differentiation and extension.
• Expect and be able to achieve appropriate standards of behaviour and discipline both within and outside the classroom.
