The Role

Tameside’s Operations and Greenspace Service is seeking to recruit an Environmental Maintenance Operative, to be part of a team carrying out a range of tasks and operations that maintain and improve the quality of the local environment.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organised individual to form part of the Street Cleansing Team. The main duties of this role will be emptying street litter bins, litter picking, cutting back overhanging vegetation and the removal of fly tipping and low levels of graffiti. The ability to use a range of hand tools and powered machinery such as blowers and hedge trimmers is desirable.

The shift pattern for this role will include Saturday working. The post will be based at Hyde Depot although you will be expected to work from other Council depots as necessary.

A full current driving licence and the ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions is an essential requirement of the post.
